Did you know that the bones in a child’s foot start off as soft cartilage. It isn’t until the age of 18 that they are actually fully formed. That makes giving kids the right shoes is so important… The should be wide enough for the shoes to spread and grow, they should be lightweight and flexible, and breathable too. All our shoes have been developed in conjunction with a paediatric podiatrist to ensure they are perfect for kids developing feet. 2. GOOD TO GROW
Our clever design concept means we make our styles last even longer than the average kids shoe. Our “Good-To-Grow” removable midsole allows you to increase the size of the shoes by half a size. And our adjustable sandal designs allow them to grow around a child’s growing foot. Plus they are child-friendly and easy to get on their feet, and get on the move!
3. OVER 20 YEARS FOOTWEAR EXPERIENCE
Before starting a kids footwear brand in 2021, I worked in the footwear industry for over 20 years (how is it that long??!) That's 20 years of working with some of the best factories all over the world, learning the craft of footwear making and what ingredients you need to make a great shoe.
4 NO ZIG+STARS TO END IN LANDFILL
Did you know, our mission is “No ZIG+STARs to ever end in landfill”. Globally, over 24 billion pairs of shoes end in landfill every year, and we want to start a movement to change this with our 3 circular solutions… RESALE, DONATE and RECYCLE. 4. WE ARE AWARD WINING
Not only have we won Platinum Junior Design Award for Best Children’s Footwear Collection”, among others, but most recently ZIG+STAR was awarded a prestigious Drapers Sustainable Fashion Award for Best Circular Initiative for our Good-to-Grow design concept and circular initiatives. To receive recognition for both our design AND sustainable credentials is a huge boost for our small but mighty brand.
